My beagle sits quietly waiting for the absolute last bite, which I give her, if its not harmful, if it is, I substitute with a dog treat. I find this comfortable, as we are a team now…after my husband died, we have each others back.I’m one of those people guilty of always giving in. I am a bone cancer and two time heart attack survivor, so I am always hyper aware of my own mortality. I just can’t seem to bring myself to deny them anything because I honestly never really know if it will be the last time I do so.

Oooohhh, so true , I have to be stricter. I gave into it in lockdown and 2 bouts of self isolating didn’t help.
Yes, the advice may be obvious, but as with all, worth listening to and reinforcing it for us humans .
I think my dog is training me??For as long as I can remember, I’ve been in the habit of reading while I eat a meal. My last dog knew that begging didn’t work on me, I never even noticed him trying. My five month old dog is still learning. ?
My cats, however, are another story. ?
